MFA under the guidance of (SIFF) Solomon Islands Football Federation is organizing the “Our Telekom Malaita Cup Tournament 2009” from 1st August to the 14th August 2009. This football competition will end with the finals on the Malaita Second Appointed Day which is on the 14th August 2009. This is an initiative by MFA to further the Peace and Reconciliation process that is much needed by the people of Malaita Province. And it is to this note that Our Telekom has donated mobile phones and sponsored prizes for this event worth some $46,500. With this assistance Telekom expects a good turnout for communities on Malaita to participate in Soccer as well as to provide entertainment for the Malaita communities as part of their celebration to mark the Malaita 2nd Appointed Day.

The Malaita Football Association Executive was very grateful with Our Telekom response to their appeal and revealed that the support
was the first Corporate Sponsor for this tournament.

Our Telekom with its current roll-out of GSM services in Malaita Province is progressing well with its 10 additional sites planned for
this year and next year. Moreover, with the upcoming soccer tournament, Auki Telekom will be offering sales on Mobiles & SIM
cards during the 2 week event.
